What We Provide

We provide aid to individuals in distress when emergencies occur

The Rescue Squad responds to emergencies with various types of boats, vehicles and equipment – a variety of light, medium and heavy rescue vehicles, a variety of boats including an air boat and specialty equipment such as side scan sonar. Major Service Areas

We provide support and operations for automobile and heavy extrication, missing or injured boaters, land and marine search and rescue, confined space operations, high angle rescue, diving, drowning (recovery and transport), swift water rescue, as well as First Responder medical response for Charleston County EMS.

Vehicle Extrication

Removing a vehicle from around a person when conventional means of exit are impossible or inadvisable.

Large Animal Rescue

The Rescue Squad provides the only certified Large Animal Rescue Team in the Lowcountry region.

Search + Rescue

The search for and provision of aid to people who are in distress or imminent danger.

Marine Response

Emergency response to maritime emergencies including homeland security, natural and man-made disasters.

Swift Water Response

Surface and flood water rescue, search operations on or near waterways, and various small boat operations.

Firefighter Rehab

Firefighters and emergency personnel utilize this service for rest, hydration, food, and medical evaluation.

Other Services We Provide

The Rescue Squad also frequently provides assistance to other agencies whenever the needed emergency response exceeds local resources, such as a disaster or a multiple-alarm fire. In addition to this and the services listed above, the Rescue Squad also provides:
