Charleston County Rescue Squad

The Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad is a volunteer-based non-profit organization contracted by Charleston County, South Carolina to provide support and operations to other agencies whenever the needed emergency response exceeds local resources, such as a disaster or a multiple-alarm fire.

Our members are all volunteers, living and working in your communities in Charleston County.

Scope of Operations

The Rescue Squad has historically responded to around 1,000 calls and emergencies per year. These calls cover a land/water footprint of over 1,300 square miles including over 80 miles of coastline. We are on call 24 x 7, 365 days a year.

Our main funding is provided by Charleston County, but we rely on fundraising efforts and donations to supplement County support.
